I Am Not an Electrical Engineer, But I Plan To Play One on the Internet
Weight: 228
Workout: 30 Minutes Stepper

My Arduino DueMilanova came yesterday! I was pretty happy about that. I have been reading the book "Getting Started With Arduino" and last night I did the standard "Hello World" app. I made a blue LED blink. I made it blink at several different intervals too. I haven't had that much fun with small electronics since I was about 8! Now the hard part is learning how to use the other stuff I got. There's resisitors and wires and a bread board, oh my! I have never been a big electronics geek. So I am sure that there will be many mistakes made along the way. The goal here is to have fun!

I will try to blog a bit this weekend or one night this week about the process I had to follow to get the dev environment up on my linux box. I also plan to set up the ruby-arduino stuff and see if I can get that to work. there is a nifty video here on using ruby with the arduino Here

I also now have a SIP Phone working! Not only that but you can call it through my firewall. the number is AriT93@ekiga.net. It even does video, scary as that is!. Now I just need to get a better webcam to use. Need to find one that works well in linux.
