Damn Doughnuts! Oh well I'll probably be back to 207 by Friday.

I watched part of Iron Chef America™ this weekend. While watching I had the following thought. "This is not a test of chef-ly talent!" What would truly display talent and ability is if they had secret ingredients like I don't know, day old bread! I mean here they are in a kitchen that is stocked with the greatest and freshest ingredients, they then get a central ingredient that is of pristine condition. For the talents that they get on the show creating wonderful dishes is a no brainer.

I think it should be more challenging. Instead of the well stocked larder they should have the dry goods aisle from the local 7-11. Rather than the seasoned sous-chefs they should get squiggy the fry-cook from the local McD's and chuck, the guy who swabs the floors. Following this pattern creating a culinary art would truly be a display of talent. As a bonus the combatants could also opt to go the other way. They could decide to go low and be awarded points for the level to which they hurt the judges! Extra points of course for the length of the hospital stay!

LOL! How about the challenge of feeding a family of 4 on rice and beans for a week?
