Hayashi always seems to add some pounds. might have to skip the noodles for a bit.

On a more geeky note: I have not been able to create and consume webservices using springframework's spring-ws! I am consuming a webservice provided by CICS on the uni's mainframe in a spring application. It works as expected and was a snap to get up and running.

I am also using spring to impement a webservice. That took a bit more work. They subscribe to the ContractFirst method of webservices. So you need to create the xml schema document first. That isn't too bad as most xml editors will generate a schema from xml for you. After that there is some plumbing that is required to implement the endpoints and the service itself but it is really pretty minimal. In the end your code will be a bit more maintainable, or so the theory goes. I'm just pretty happy that they are both working!

Overall I am really happy with spring. You tend to generate a bit more code at the outset but maintenance and changing seems like it will be quite a bit less painful in the long run.
