What's It Going to be then, Eh?

The One I Love
Weight: 213
Workout: 30 Minutes Treadmill

I woke up tired this morning. I did not feel like running. So I didn't. dynup.net was having issues most of the morning as well so I have not been able to post most of the day. That seems to be all cleared up now.

I have recently been experimenting with skeletone and abbrev in emacs. Its pretty nice. It allows for the creation of skeletons to use in coding/editing. A skeleton is just that the framework for a piece of text, ie, a basic html page, C# class, try-catch block. Anything of that sort. A template in other workds. Except they can also include prompts for information to be included. Abbrev's are abbreviations. So if I want to add a method to to a class I type mthd <SPACE> I am then asked if it's public or private, what the return type is, and what the method name is. Emacs then creates the method stub for me like this

public void methodName( ) { }

that example doesn't really save that much typing but the idea carries to any other type of composition as well. The little box with the weight and workout is a skeleton now for instance.

The combination is really rather nice for most of the editing I do all day. So many saved keystrokes, even better, so many less annoying typo's
