Happy Baby Day
Weight: ???
Workout: none
My new son entered this world at 8:15 pm on May 4th. There is absolutely nothing that I could write that could express the emotion of that experience. It is truly dumbfounding. To see a human life at it's very beginning is incredible. There is a definite primal thing that happens. I can't really explain it but there is this raw animal kind of pride at seeing your baby take it's first breaths and scream with life that leaves you feeling like the absolutely most powerful person in the world. Of course now I'll be entering the 6 months of absolutely no sleep that will teach me just how vulnerable and fragile the most powerful person in the world can feel. And as hard and trying as that could be I don't think I would trade it for anything.

It is amazing how after two years with Cecilia you could forget jfust how small and precious a newborn is. And yet I still see her as that small little baby that we brought home two years ago. I suppose I always will. I think that is probably the reason that parents always forgive their children anything they do. In the minds eye they are always going to be that fragile, precious little baby that captures their hearts and souls in that single instant of screaming and clawing into life.

absolute happiness and joy is the only thing I am feeling right now.
